Significant Technological Developments in 2023

In 2023, the world witnessed notable advancements in technology, with a particular focus on emerging artificial intelligence models. One of the most significant events in Turkey was the launch of TOGG, referred to as an "intelligent device."

As technology continued to progress throughout the year, artificial intelligence remained a major competitive field. Following the introduction of ChatGPT by OpenAI in 2022, competitors released their own AI products. Alphabet, the parent company of Google, unveiled Bard, an AI chat robot, which is considered a major rival to ChatGPT.

Not stopping there, Google announced Gemini, a new AI model capable of understanding not only text but also images, videos, and audio. Gemini was highlighted for its ability to recognize various objects visually, make comments, and provide predictions.

Rise of Deep Fake Videos and Fraud
A significant technological development in 2023 involved AI applications that generate images from textual descriptions. The public perception of images related to the trial of former US President Donald Trump, where police officers were depicted dragging him on the ground, sparked discussions on "fake news."
The year also witnessed a substantial increase in fraudulent activities using deep fake videos. Advancements in technologies allowing the imitation of individuals' images and voices made deep fake videos one of the most exploited methods by fraudsters. Many companies intensified efforts to detect deep fake videos.

Turkey Developing its Own AI
Turkey experienced noteworthy developments in the field of artificial intelligence. Selçuk Bayraktar, the Chairman of Baykar, announced the initiation of a Turkish-language natural language processing project. The project aimed to cover all languages, be open-source, and serve as a comprehensive natural language processing model.

The T10X was not only a car but also an "intelligent device" incorporating various technological systems.
