WHAT IS BITLOCKER?

...

What is BitLocker and what is it used for?

BitLocker is a Windows encryption technology that protects your drive by encrypting it and requiring one or more authentication factors before unlocking it. Windows requires a BitLocker recovery key if it detects a potential unauthorized access attempt to access the data.

Is BitLocker harmful?

Windows BitLocker is a hardware-based data encryption technology that ensures the protection of these important data in a highly secure manner. Unlike EFS, Bitlocker encrypts not just files but the entire drive, offering a more secure structure than EFS.

Can BitLocker be hacked?

Bitlocker is one of the most secure encryption algorithms known and is almost impossible to hack.

How can I find the BitLocker password?

Solution. Open this link https://onedrive.live.com/RecoveryKey and log in to your Microsoft account. You will find your latest Bitlocker key.

Why does BitLocker recovery occur?

If you see a BitLocker recovery screen when you start your computer, your Hard Disk/SDD is encrypted. Changing PC hardware components or BIOS settings can all cause the BitLocker recovery screen to appear after the system starts.

How long does BitLocker encryption take?

Encryption can take anywhere from 20 minutes to several hours depending on the amount of data being encrypted, the speed of the computer, and whether the computer was shut down or put into sleep mode during the process. BitLocker encryption does not start until the computer is restarted.
