Eduroam Wireless Internet

What is Eduroam?

Eduroam (EDUcation ROAMing) is a RADIUS-based authentication system designed to provide secure and easy wireless internet access for users when they are visiting other institutions. Users of eduroam member institutions can access the wireless networks of other participating institutions by using their own institutional username and password.

Today, eduroam is widely used by universities and research institutions around the world. The up-to-date list of eduroam member universities in Türkiye can be found on the official ULAKBİM website.

How to Connect to the Eduroam Network

Connecting to the eduroam network is very similar to connecting to your home institution’s wireless network. You can log in using the same authentication and encryption methods, as well as your existing username and password.

The main difference between the networks is the SSID (Wireless Network Name). The SSID used for eduroam is typically “eduroam”. If your home institution also uses this SSID, your device may connect automatically without requiring any additional configuration.

Information about the SSIDs used by eduroam member institutions can be found on the Eduroam Türkiye Participants page. Details about eduroam coverage areas and local usage policies are available on the official websites of the host institutions.

For connection settings and technical support, it is recommended to contact your home institution’s network administrators.
