Turkey continues to make significant strides in space exploration, bolstering its independence in the field. The country's first domestically produced communication satellite, Türksat 6A, has successfully reached its temporary orbit at the 50 degrees East longitude.
Türksat 6A is set to commence service in November.
Its antennas will be deployed and tested in this orbit for three months. Following validations during this period, Türksat 6A will then move to its designated orbit at 42 degrees East longitude, where it is expected to operate for 15 years.
Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır announced that Türksat 6A has settled into its testing orbit at 35,786 kilometers above Earth at the 50 degrees East longitude. He also confirmed the successful deployment of payload antennas aimed at expanding Turkey's communication coverage area.
Transportation and Infrastructure Minister Abdulkadir Uraloğlu similarly reported Türksat 6A's arrival at the temporary orbit of 50 degrees East longitude. He expressed excitement over the milestone, emphasizing the satellite's role in safeguarding Turkey's rights in this orbital position.
The ministers conveyed their pride and joy as Türksat 6A advances in space, marking a significant achievement for Turkey's space ambitions.
